This facility is home to two very successful and highly-regarded local sports clubs. The junior football team regularly provides draft picks to the top AFL sides (there are many famous names on the historic lockers) and the cricket club currently has two members in the national Test and ODI teams.

An apparently simple enough brief: to extend the existing change room, amenities, gymnasium and offices, add some additional facilities and improve the environmental sustainability of the building.

The real challenge: how to simultaneously upgrade the quality of the spaces and facilities for the clubs and other community users within the budget (ie add value to the asset) while alleviating some of the unfriendly ‘bunker’ characteristics that often plague such robust, vandal-proofed buildings.
